KANSAS CITY, Missouri | Mon Oct 21, 2013 2:04pm EDT

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Reuters) - A Missouri judge on Monday asked a Kansas City prosecutor to take over the investigation of an alleged rape in the town of Maryville, a case that attracted national attention after it was publicized by the computer hacking group Anonymous.

Charges were filed against the boy but later dropped.
