U.S. waives Jones Act to help get fuel to Northeast Nov 2nd 2012, 16:29 WASHINGTON | Fri Nov 2, 2012 11:20am EDT WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Department of Homeland Security on Friday issued a temporary, blanket waiver of the Jones Act to allow foreign-flagged oil tankers from the Gulf of Mexico to help supply the Northeast with fuel, after Hurricane Sandy shut two refineries in the region.
