Rock slide kills five hikers in Colorado mountains Oct 1st 2013, 02:23 DENVER | Mon Sep 30, 2013 8:57pm EDT DENVER (Reuters) - Five hikers died on Monday when they were buried by rubble from a rock slide in the Colorado Rockies southwest of Denver, said Chaffee County spokesman Dave Cotten. Rescuers reached a 13-year-old girl injured in the avalanche and had tried to get to the five others before confirming that they had died. The girl was airlifted to a Denver area hospital and her condition was unknown.
